Music Program Information for 4th, 5th and 6th Graders

DJUSD will continue offering intermediate grade students the opportunity for strings or band classes this school year. Keep in mind that to enroll your child in a beginning class, you and your child must first go to one of these meetings:

Band Meetings at Davis High School:

Sept. 8, 7:30 p.m. for all schools

Sept. 9, 7:30 p.m. for all schools

Strings Meetings at Patwin Elementary:

Sept. 3, 7:30PM (Willett Elementary families are designated to attend this night for strings. If you cannot attend this meeting, then please attend one of the other scheduled meetings)

Sept. 8, 7:30PM

Bike or Walk to School Program

The scanning system captures every trip and can instantly notify a parent by text, email or phone that their student arrived on campus. The system generates real-time statistics including CO2, calories, miles and gas savings for each student, their classroom, grade or for the whole district. "Car Free” October Events:

Thursday, October 1st is the start of a citywide elementary school walk/bike/carpool challenge.  Please help Willett win this exciting contest by getting signed up now -  Return your signed permission slip to an Active4Me volunteer at the bike racks or drop it by the PTA box in the Willett office.  If your child lost their barcode tag, it can be replaced at the bike racks.  The contest runs through the entire month of October.

Wednesday, October 7th is International Walk & Bike to School Day – Davis City Council members will be handing out stickers and Clif bars to our walkers/bikers/carpoolers.  October 7

Wednesday, October 14th is our Willett Bike Rodeo.  Join us after school to learn how to bike safely on our streets.  Volunteers will be doing helmet and bike maintenance checks.  Please return the permission slip to the PTA box at the Willett office or bring with you to the event. 

An Evening of Family Favorites and Fun

This is a PTA-sponsored, library program that encourages families to read together.

This program is held during the late winter or early spring. Families register and set reading goals for each member. A reading time record is kept and later turned into the library.The program culminates in an evening of entertainment at school followed by dessert.

GRAB - Go Read A Book

GRAB (Go Read A Book) Program

The 2:35-3:05 reading program begins on September 8th  for 1st, 2nd and 3rd  grade students. 

We meet in G-36.Those that completed the summer “Bridge” reading work or the reading room BINGO incentive need to bring their documentation to the office or the reading room.  Due date is September 11th.  The otter pop and pizza party dates and details coming soon!
